In-Vehicle Data Sovereignty, Edge Privacy, and Regulatory Compliance

How modern automotive architectures comply with EU GDPR, China Automobile Data Security Regulations, and UNECE R155 by implementing on-device face/license-plate blurring.

Edge-Side Object Detection and In-Place Pixel Blurring

Before any camera stream is piped to the cloud telematics daemon or written to an unencrypted eMMC drive, it routes through a lightweight YOLO or MobileNet inference model executed directly on the NPU. The model outputs bounding boxes for human heads and vehicle registration plates. A hardware accelerated 2D graphics engine applies a heavy Gaussian blur directly into the frame buffer with less than 3 milliseconds of latency.
